COP26, UN climate conference
World leaders, celebrities, business leaders and scientists flying in on private jets from all over the world! Up to 25000 of them expected when you add in the family, friends, servants and personal staff and security, all being ferried around in electric (climate friendly) limousines that don’t have enough charging station so Diesel generators being brought in to create extra…...LOL

Will it achieve anything, how many anarchist types turn up to demonstrate, will insulate Briton have a sit down on any of Glasgow’s major roads?

Personally im expecting fuck all to be achieved, and lots of unwashed and middle class lefty types to cause chaos, but not expecting the old bill to be quite as passive with them as we have been seeing with the insulate Briton types, may see a few cracked heads……….

Let the Games begin.

Why do grown men use lol, is it because they want to appear to be teenagers for some warped reason?

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
There is too much hypocrisy in all this isn’t there? It’s a show. The establishment is not really up for the changes needed.

They’d be better of telling the masses how to change their own lives to get what’s needed done.

Its a new religion. They believe in its core tenets while simultaneously know the priests are fiddling and fucking kids. Its Catholicism for the new era.

I’m going out on a limb here but I reckon the key objectives will be achieved:

More taxes for working people

More travel restrictions for working people

More public spending on green companies that are owned by friends of governments

More investment in PR to create more fear about the world ending tomorrow

And jolly good piss up to slap each other on the back before flying off to the next carve up

They need to work out what to do with the fossil fuel lobby and the politicians, especially certain Democrat Party senators, who are sabotaging the drive towards CO2 emissions reduction as we shift to renewables.

We need to be using hydrogen power to get around. Or just broadband internet and stay at home in front of the fire.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Great idea Gopnik.

How do you produce hydrogen? Have they solved the problem of mass storage yet?

I see Betty '5 Castles' Windsor was caught having a bit of a moan about politicians just talking and not doing anything. IRONIC
Understand she will be going along .... if she lasts til next month

My view is that there is a will to talk but not really to make any real sacrifices. And obviously China & India will say its a bit rich for the West to want them to stop their development a bit like the big Premier league clubs wanting to pull the bridge up and stop anyone else spending like they have.
Enjoy the ride & wear sunscreen

I see the LOLustralian PM has decided to come now, Sven.

Her Maj probably had a word, and reminded him you're all her subjects and it's probably better that he came.

Hammer and Pickle 1:19 Sat Oct 23
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
“reminded him you're all her subjects”

This is absolute nonsense whatever the Monarch said to the Aussie PM.

You don’t know what a subject is Twundle and no, it’s got nothing to do with what you whack yourself out over on the internet, you lumpenprole.

I judged the question was one you could handle. Clearly I was wrong.

Never mind, I can’t adjust the discourse level lower without giving you a pretext to get your growler out.

I was hoping for Sven (which is why I addressed him), but I'm even more delighted you reacted, Pickled.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Which of your drunken personas is your new but continued use of the word growler attached to Thickle?

It’s either the south London hardman or homo-erotic ones but can you clarify?

Hammer and Pickle 1:48 Sat Oct 23
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
It’s hard to name it but it’s got to be a growler with that funk, grampz.
